Achotines Bay · La Playita

Achotines Bay is the cove immediately east of Playa Venao, in Corregimiento Oria Arriba, Distrito de Pedasí. Locally it is known as La Playita. It is quieter and more enclosed than Venao's open bay. Playa Venao is 2.9 km away, about five minutes by road. Note on terminology: no beach in Panama can be privately owned. On the Pacific coast the ribera de playa extends 22 metres from the high-tide line and remains state domain, and coastal developments must provide a public-access servitude.
